HOW TO REACH HORTOBÁGY
Hortobágy is located in south-east part of Hungary on the Great Plane. The village and the Hotel is around 25 km from Debrecen, the second biggest city of Hungary. You can reach the place of the Conference by car, by train or by plane.
By car

From the North and West of Europe

): First you have to reach Budapest. From Budapest take the M3 motorway, change to the route 33 at Füzesabony (Exit at milestone 114) into the direction Tiszafüred. Continue on a two lane country road until village of Hortobágy (72 km from the highway exit). Just before Hortobágy and the famous 9 holes bridge over the river Hortobágy You will see a left-hand sign to "Máta" (and also an EMC sign). Turn left and continue on the main road (follow the EMC sign) until you reach the Hotel Hortobágy (around 1 km).
From the South and East of Europe

): First you have to reach Debrecen. From Debrecen take the route 33 into the direction Hortobágy. Continue on a two lane country road until village of Hortobágy (33 km from Debrecen). Just after Hortobágy and the famous 9 holes bridge above river Hortobágy You will see a right-hand sign to "Máta" (and also an EMC sign). Turn right and continue on the main road until you reach the Hotel Hortobágy (around 1 km).
Useful information for car drivers:
In Hungary the speed limits are 50 km/h in towns, 90 km/h on country roads and 130 km/h on motorways. There is an obligatory road tax (sticker) for all motorways. You can buy 4 days, 10 days, 1 month and 1 year stickers almost at every fuel station. For actual price: link. The blood alcohol limit is 0% in Hungary.

By plane
:
Almost all European capital is connected to the Budapest airport (Ferihegy). The airport is 5 km away from Budapest. There is a good Airport minibus service which transports passengers to any destination in Budapest. The one way ticket is 2100 Ft, the return ticket is 3600 Ft.
We are planning to organize shuttle busses from the Airport to our hotel on the Saturday afternoon (2:00 pm, 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm) and from the hotel to the airport on Wednesday morning (6:00 am, 8:00 am and 10:00 am). Slight (few minutes later) changes might occur depending on arrival times of the flights and check out. Reservation is required in advance (see the Registration form). After registration those who requested shuttle service will be contacted by email.

By train
:
Intercity trains to Debrecen leave from Budapest East Station (Keleti pályaudvar) in every two hours. You must have a seat reservation on these trains which can be purchased together with your train ticket.
Since the train station of Hortobágy is too far away from the Hotel, we strongly suggest that conferees should travel only to Debrecen. We are planning to run shuttle busses from the train station of Debrecen to the Conference centre. If you would like to take advantage of this service please contact the Organizers with your schedule in advance.
